ASON DOWLER III passed gracefully through the exquisitely furnished penthouse shaking hands and interacting with
the many guests who had shown up. The hum of dozens of conver-sations and the clink of crystal glasses was layered over the sounds of a string quartet
playing a selection by Bach in the back-ground. |

   The guests were arrayed throughout the aptly named 'great room' of the penthouse. The size of the room was only one of the reasons
why this apartment had been chosen for hosting the night's match.
   Another was the overall geographic location. Jason Dowler had selected Kansas
City to be the site of the first |

match of the new millenium. Located near the center of the United States, he wanted to make it clear that these
new matches would not be restricted to the old 'New York, LA, and Chicago' venues of the past. It was just one of the changes the young millionaire
hoped to incorporate into his version of apartment house wrestling. |
