In January 1982, Sports Review Wrestling magazine chronicled the
confrontation between two apartment wrestlers: Vanity and Ornette.
At the time, Ornette was considered one of the great apartment
wrestlers of the decade. A schoolteacher by day, her petite frame
and girl next door beauty gave no indication of her nighttime passion.
In an apartment match, Ornette became a warrior consumed with bloodlust.
She savaged her opponents with such ferocity that spectators came away from
the matches unsettled.
A chance encounter brought Ornette and Vanity together. A serial risk taker,
Vanity lived to push the limits of life itself. The thought of becoming
an apartment wrestler came naturally to the beautiful blonde. And so a
match was scheduled between the two women.
In the shocking conclusion to the violent brawl, Vanity's ability to push
herself beyond a normal human's physical and emotional limits enabled her to defeat the veteran
fighter Ornette. And fans assumed that was the end of the story.
